GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -
A 44-year-old man killed in a one car crash in Garfield Heights early Wednesday morning.
The accident happened at 1:14 a.m. on East 131th and Saybrook Avenue.
Witnesses say the vehicle was operating at a high rate of speed when the driver, identified as James Simmons, lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and then struck the cement base of a commercial sign.
Simmons was ejected from the vehicle and died on scene.
An investigation is underway.
