PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Samuels will be on the stand for his sixth day of testimony when the proceedings resume at 10 a.m. Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Arias could be sentenced to death if convicted of first-degree murder in the 2008 killing of Travis Alexander in his Mesa home.

Authorities say she planned the attack on her lover. Arias initially told authorities she had nothing to do with it then blamed it on masked intruders. She later said it was self-defense.

Samuels was on the stand for a fifth day Thursday as the jury submitted more than 100 questions to Judge Sherri Stephens.

Many of the questions focused on Arias' lies, how Samuels could be sure she is telling the truth now, whether her memory loss could be fabricated and his opinions on premeditation.

Arizona is one of a few states where jurors can query witnesses through written questions read by the judge.
