American Cancer Society prepares for biggest fundraiser yet

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The American Cancer Society in Tucson holds a big fundraiser every year but this year they are taking the event to a whole new level.

They are calling it "Divas in the Desert" American Cancer Society 2013 Gala. A fitting name as they are rolling out the red carpet for the event.

This Gala is going to be an once-in-a-lifetime event with a celebrity concert and live auction. Jennifer Hudson, Jordan Sparks, and Pia Toscano are some of the singers on the list.

The American Cancer Society needs volunteers for the big event. Call Dot Walker at 520-323-4217 or email dot.walker@cancer.org .

The event is sold out, but anyone wanting to attend can be put on a waiting list.

"Divas in the Desert" American Cancer Society 2013 Gala is on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa.
