EL PASO, TX (CBS5) -

Border patrol officials say they stopped a 59-year-old man Wednesday morning who was attempting to leave the country with more than $150,000 in unreported money that was smuggled in sealed soda cans.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office said agents at the El Paso port of entry searched the man's Ford Ranger and a drug dog alerted officers to a duffle bag in the vehicle. They found four soft drink cans fill with 1,549 individual bills in U.S. and Mexican currency totaling $151,306.

Juan Francisco Dominiquez Morales, of San Diego, was arrested and turned over to ICE.
