Worshippers spent Good Friday at "A" Mountain for the Stations of the Cross Procession.
Hundreds showed up for the 44-year tradition. Followers carried a 240 pound cross and stopped to pray at 14 stations.
Tucson native, David Herrera started the event back in 1969 and has attended every year. He says he started it as a way for people to help each other stay out of trouble and honor Good Friday.
"I'm getting much younger people that never went to church and now they are getting better, they feel better and they know our religion is just as good as anything else," said Herrera.
Sentinel Peak Road will re-open for normal hours on Saturday. However, on Sunday, the road will be closed to vehicles until noon, because of the Sunrise Easter Service.
