TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Senior captain Alex Robles wasn't about to let his last chance to win the Chris Moon Memorial slip away.

The Badgers senior righthander dominated Las Vegas' Rancho High School tossing a complete-game one-hit shutout to lead Tucson Magnet High School to a 2-0 win and their first Championship in the tournament that honors the former Badgers pitcher killed in Afghanistan in 2010.

TMHS (16-3) had come close twice before, losing last year in the title game to Ironwood Ridge. But not on this day as Robles took a no-hitter in the 6th inning while striking out 11.

Moon, taken out of high school by the Atlanta Braves in the 35th round of the 2007 MLB Draft, opted for a college scholarship at Arizona but walked away from the program in the Fall of 2008 to enlist in the Army.

His dreams of becoming a sniper ended in the Summer of 2010 when he stepped on a road side bomb.
