Tucson Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident at the Quik Mart on South 4th Avenue and East 22nd Street.
Tucson Police Sgt. Chris Widmer says 43-year-old Christopher Lindsey was arrested on one count of aggravated assault after shooting a handicapped panhandler near the Quik Mart gas pumps.
Sgt. Widmer says the adult male victim was shot in the arm and was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The shooting happened after the handicapped panhandler was "aggressively panhandling," according to police. The Quik Mart clerk approached the man, who then picked up a windshield wiper squeegee. That's when the clerk hit the man with a hand gun. The panhandler then made a verbal threat, according to police. The clerk responding by shooting the man in the arm.
