Westbound Interstate 10 re-opened just after 9 a.m. Monday after a tractor-trailer rolled onto its side, closing the lanes near Buckeye Road for two and a half hours.
Debris from the crash about 6 a.m. littered the highway and traffic was diverted to northbound Interstate 17 at the "split" about a mile south of Buckeye Road, according to an Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman.
Drivers from the East Valley were encouraged to find alternate routes, including Loop 202 and State Route 143.
The driver of the semi was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to a Department of Public Safety spokesman. The driver of another car involved in the crash was not hurt.
No other information was immediately available.
