TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) Every prince deserves to find his princess and this one did. But it's not your average story.
Students from Rio Vista Elementary School spent time at Limberlost Park during their spring break when they found a lost boxer mix, said Kim Janes, Manager of Pima Animal Care Center. The students gave the dog lots of love while waiting for an officer to take him to Pima Animal Care Center.
Upon the students' return back to school, they couldn't help but share their story Prince, the dog they found with their reading tutor, Cindy Hayden.
The students decided to track the progress of Prince but when no one claimed him, Hayden took it upon herself to find the dog a home. She quickly came across Kellie Walsh, a kindergarten teacher who was in the market for a new pet after her boxer passed away.
Walsh who told her story to students this morning to inspire her writing curriculum says she plans on bringing Prince into school soon for a visit and Hayden's students will write a storybook about the Dog Prince.
