Happening today, the University of Arizona is teaming up with the Community Food Bank for their fifth annual ‘Stuff the Cat-Tran' food drive.
Volunteers will be out on the U of A mall this morning to help ‘Stuff the Cat-Tran'.
Various university organizations are putting on the food drive to benefit the Community Food Bank. The food raised will go towards the Food Bank's child nutrition programs, and emergency food assistance program.
Organizers hope to stuff two Cat-Tran shuttles and raise over 9,000 pounds of food today, a thousand pounds more than last year.
They are asking for non-perishable food items, and are in great need of cereal, canned meats and vegetables. Cash donations will also be accepted.
The food drive started at 7 a.m. and will continue until 7 p.m. today. Those interested in donating can drop off food items near Cherry and University.
