Man injured in Silverton fire

SILVERTON, OH (FOX19) -

One man is in critical condition after a fire broke out in Silverton on Wednesday.

Authorities say a fire was reported at RH Towing, located in the 6800 block of Plainfield Road just south of Montgomery Road. The building is also U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer. It happened around 4:30 p.m.

Officials say Clayton Whitley was rescued from the basement of the building and is listed in critical condition. Air care transported him to UC Medical Center for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Both Silverton and Amberley Village Fire Departments responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
