Police investigating OSU threat posted on website

COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) -

Police officers at The Ohio State University were warned of a potential threat to the Columbus campus.

Authorities say the threat was posted on a role player game website, with the school cafeteria believed to be the target of the threat.

"From initial information we received we were unable to determine if OSU was a reference to the Ohio State University or not. Regardless, we immediately initiated an investigation," said Paul Denton, OSU Police Chief. "But I want to recognize the responsible efforts of the users, players, and moderates of these sites of making us aware so we could begin investigating. Just before midnight we learned more from a chat room moderator which was specific to a cafeteria at the Ohio State University."

OSU Police say they are working with the FBI to continue their investigation.
