Drain work started this a.m. at Granada Ave., St. Mary's Rd.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Construction work began this morning at 6 a.m., as crews install a 90 inch storm drain across the intersection of Granada Avenue and St. Mary's Road.

The construction is part of the Downtown Links project to  connect Barraza Aviation Parkway to I-10.  Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians will be detoured to Fifth Street and Main Avenue.  Restrictions will remain in place until Monday. 

Access to Davis Elementary will remain open at all times.  Commuters who use the area should remember to add some extra time when heading out. 

Drivers are also advised to slow down and watch for detour signs.
