Comment period closing for plan to raise downtown parking rates

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The ParkWise Commission is scheduled to end its public comment period on a plan to raise parking rates in downtown Tucson.

The commission is looking to double rates at downtown meters.

It is also considering adding evening and weekends to enforcement times.

    It happened around 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 on Speedway and Main, near Pima Community College, according to the Tucson Fire Department.  TFD officials say a little boy, who lives in the main house, tried to put out the flames with a garden hose. It didn't work.
