Police Chief Michael McGrath announced Thursday the 2 recent murders and 1 sexual assault in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, are NOT related.

Jazmine Trotter, 20, and Christine Malone, 45, died from blunt head trauma and strangulation.

Trotter was found murdered on March 26. The missing woman's body was found underneath the back porch of an abandoned home on East 93rd Street.

Trotter's body was found by family members after she failed to show up for work.

Malone, a mother of eight, was found on the 9000 block of Bessemer Avenue on March 28.

Cleveland Police say Jerome Ogletree is a suspect in Trotter's murder. He has not yet been charged, but remains under arrest. Police say Trotter worked as the same agency as Ogletree. She was sexually assaulted.

There is no person of interest for Christine Malone murder. Police also say Malone was not sexually assaulted. Malone had been seen getting in a car before her murder.

A third woman was attacked and sexually assaulted in the 2900 block of East 116th on Saturday, March 30. She managed to escape.

Police announced Thursday that 2 men are being questioned in this assault. Both of these suspects have had similar assaults in the past.

The attack was thwarted when a female and two males approached in a blue Pontiac during the attack and yelled, causing the suspect to flee. The Good Samaritans left the scene prior to the arrival of the police. Police are still urging these witnesses to come forward.
