Families displaced, firefighter injured after house fire

EVANSTON, OH (FOX19) -

Two families were displaced and a firefighter was injured after a house fire in Evanston Friday evening.

Authorities say a two-alarm fire was reported at a two-family residence on Trimble Avenue. It happened around 7 p.m.

Two adults and 13 children were able to get out safely before fire crews arrived on scene. Authorities say a problem with the nearby hydrant forced crews to use the water source on their truck.

One firefighter was treated for sustained minor injuries to his feet. He was taken to UC Medical Center and is expected to recover.

No word yet on the cause of the blaze.
