Tucson Police are saying the overnight accident was a fatal DUI, involving two vehicles. The accident happened just before 11 p.m. on Sunday night.
According to TPD, the 21-year-old female driver of a pickup truck, heading west bound on Golf Links hit a guard rail, ejecting her passenger. The 26-year-old man was not wearing a seatbelt, according to officials. The truck then crossed the median into oncoming traffic and struck an SUV causing it to roll over, the driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
Emergency crews declared the passenger of the truck dead at the scene, while the driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries. The 21-year-old is facing a charge of second degree homicide, according to police, she is currently in their custody. The identities of those involved in the accident are not being released at the moment.
