School safety has been a topic in Arizona's state legislature and local communities.
Today the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board will go over their school safety plan.
Board member Michael Hicks, along with staff who are part of school safety and guidance counseling programs, will talk on emergency planning throughout TUSD schools.
School leaders will review the plan in store now and what changes need to be made. The district will also talk about how to train their staff on dangerous scenarios like a shooter on campus.
TUSD will discuss plans with local law enforcement to provide training to their staff. The district has collected data on the security of its schools and will present that information tonight as well.
The Governing Board will meet this evening at TUSD headquarters at 6:30 p.m.
