TUCSON, Ariz. – Nicknamed the "Yankee Stadium" of college softball, Hillenbrand Stadium has seen 580 victories and this year it turns 20 years old. The team will celebrate the anniversary Thursday, April 18, when the Cats take on UCLA at 7:00 p.m. MST.
The Wildcats will debut their brand new copper helmets for the contest, which is being televised on ESPN2. Additionally, there will be in-game copper promotions and commemorative programs will be handed out as well as bandannas to the first 2,000 fans. Former players will also be in attendance to sign autographs after the game.
Arizona has posted a .898 winning percentage in the hallowed stadium, which includes a solid 17-4 home record so far this season. The three-game series against UCLA will continue on Friday, April 19 and will be shown live on ESPNU at 5 p.m. First pitch of Saturday's series finale will be at 6 p.m. and televised on the Pac-12 Network.
