300 DM airmen return home

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

It was a celebration at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. At least 300 airmen returned to the base after being deployed for several months.

The group was from the 354th Fighter Squadron and the 355th Maintenance Group.

The airmen had been gone on a six month deployment to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. In the group were A-10 pilots who provided close air support and the airmen who maintained the jets.

Tomorrow, 15 A-10 pilots are expected to return to the base. They will fly to DM in 2 separate formations.
