The Cochise County Sheriff's Department is honoring several employees. Sheriff Mark Dannels hosted an awards ceremony Tuesday to honor the employees of the first quarter of 2013.
Deputy Rene Meza, Corporal Christie Heisner, secretary Ray Korleski, and Sheriff's Assist Team volunteer Lou Kuttner all received the honor. The winners were nominated by their peers.
During the ceremony, Dannels said, "Each of these individuals are a great asset to the Sheriff's Office and to the public we serve. We extend our deepest appreciation for the outstanding performance they provide each and every day and we look forward to continuing our working relationship in the future."
A deputy credited with saving a man's life is also being honored. Officials say Deputy Marsha Callahan-English was answering a call when she found a man not breathing. She revived him by performing CPR. Officials awarded Callahan-English with a lifesaving medal for her actions.
