Free health check for Tucson residents this weekend

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Six Tucson area hospitals are taking part in ‘Stroke Check' this Saturday, April 13.

The screenings are free and no appointment is required as it is walk-ins only. The event runs from 8 a.m. – Noon, at any of the following locations:

  • St. Mary's Hospital - 1601 W. St. Mary's Rd.
  • The University of Arizona Medical Center - 1501 N. Campbell Ave.
  • Northwest Medical Center - 6200 N. La Cholla Blvd.
  • Oro Valley Hospital - 1551 E. Tangerine Rd. Oro Valley
  • St. Joseph's Hospital - 350 N. Wilmot Rd.
  • Tucson Medical Center - Marshall Conference Center 5301 E. Grant Rd.

The StrokeCheck stroke screening includes the following:

  • Total Lipid Cholesterol
  • Glucose Screenings
  • Blood Pressure Checks
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Counseling by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Dieticians
  • Educational Materials
  • Heart Healthy Refreshments
  • Copies of screening results that you can take to your personal physician
