As the gun control debate heats up in our nation's capitol, one group is remembering the victims of gun violence; they will be holding a vigil in Tucson today.
Many are expected to gather at the Christina Taylor Green Memorial Park to light a candle in remembrance of all the lives lost due to gun violence.
Organizers say it is a way to send a clear message to state leaders that it's time to step it up.
The group organizing for action is calling on Arizona Senators Jeff Flake and John McCain to help pass gun control laws.
The vigil is being held tonight, with the message ‘We have not forgotten', in memory of Christina Taylor Green, the fallen children of Newtown, Connecticut, and others in the community that lost their lives to gun violence.
Tonight survivors from the Tucson shooting, law enforcement officials, and local leaders will speak at the Candlelight vigil. Students from the University of Arizona will read the names and ring a bell for each of the victims from Tucson and Newtown, Connecticut.
Anyone can attend the vigil happening tonight at 7 p.m.
