If you bought a baby crib through JCPenney's website or catalog before 2008, you may have a faulty crib.
Roughly 73,000 PT Domusindo Perdana cribs purchased from 1998 to 2008 are being recalled.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the cribs' sides can malfunction, creating a space in which a baby can get trapped. [Click here for more information on the recall.]
CBS 5 News spoke with a baby product expert who said cribs are getting safer every year.
"No hand me downs, no heirloom cribs, again with today's standards of green guard-safe cribs and how far we've come, don't reuse," BabyStop owner Kate Tanner said.
She also said if your baby isn't old enough to hold their head up, don't put stuffed animals or bumpers in the crib because they could be suffocating.
