A Shreveport man is behind bars for refusing to pull up his pants.
Police say it happened just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Centenary Boulevard. A Shreveport police officer spotted Aaron Woodbury with his pants sagging below his waist.
Shreveport Sgt. Bill Goodin says the officer asked Woodbury several times to pull up his pants- and he refused.
His wife, Semekia Woodbury says it's outrageous that her husband is sitting in jail for this- a city ordinance that she doesn't agree with, and an ordinance she says her husband didn't violate.
"He never sags, he's always dressed nice, and with a belt," said Semekia.
But police tell us he was arrested because of how he responded to police when they asked him to leave the area and told him to pull up his pants.
Police were called to the scene for a large fight and to provide crowd control.
"Our goal is to go out there and resolve the situation as safely and quickly as possible," said Goodin. The resolution apparently included telling the crowd to disperse. But they say when Woodbury was told to go home, he refused.
Woodbury was arrested and charged with wearing his pants below his waist in public and resisting an officer.
