Sheriff Mark Dannels announced the results of the Southeastern Arizona D.U.I. Task Force in Cochise County last weekend.
According to the Cochise County Sheriff's Department, the task force had saturation patrols and checkpoints throughout the county with the following results:
Vehicle(s) Contacted: 316
Traffic Stops: 15
Citations Issued: 4
Warnings Issued: 3
Repair Order Issued: 1
Field Sobriety Tests: 5
Drug Arrests: 1
Open Container: 1
Suspended Driver Arrests: 1
The funding assistance of the Governors Office of Highway Safety helped put this effort forth, to reinforce the seriousness of drinking and driving.
Officers from the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, Sierra Vista Police Department, Douglas Police Department, and Arizona Department of Public Safety, Sheriff's Assist Team and Tombstone Fire Department all support this effort to make roads safer and protect citizens from impaired drivers.
Sheriff Dannels reminds anyone who drinks to not drive.
