MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

What started out as a 911 call from the other drivers reporting a woman banging on a rear window of a car turned into a police pursuit.

It started on U.S. 60 near Alma School Road on Tuesday morning.

DPS said officers tried to pull the car over but eventually had to throw down stop sticks, and the chase ended near Country Club and Main in Mesa.

The driver ended up being the 21-year-old woman's mother.

The woman claims her mom tried to kidnap her.

The mother could face charges for felony flight.
