PCSD releases school zone enforcement statistics

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has released statistics for the two week period of April 1 through April 12 for the High Intensity School Zone Enforcement project.

Although the first phase is complete, the enforcement efforts will continue through the remainder of the school year.

    The Forest Service said Tuesday’s high winds, coupled with dry vegetation and low relative humidity – is a formula that can create massive wildfires. Like the Aspen Fire on Mt Lemmon that burned 84,000 acres in 2003.
