Marana parents warned about stranger danger incident

MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Parents of students at Marana Middle School received letters to warn them about a stranger danger incident earlier today.

The letter from the principal says a vehicle was seen driving by a school bus stop Wednesday morning at North Blacktail Road and West El Camino de Tres Arroyos.  According to the principal, the vehicle stopped, opened the front driver's side door and backed up after passing the bus stop. The driver did not communicate with the student. 

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

The vehicle has been described as a white SUV, raised or lifted with bigger tires.  If you know anything about this, call 88-CRIME.

April 17,2013

Dear MaranaMiddle School Parents and Family,

The safety ofour students is our number one concern. I want to make you aware of suspiciousbehavior which occurred in our community at approximately 8:00am this morning.  A vehicle was seen driving by one of our school bus stops located at North Blacktail Road and West El Camino De Tres Arroyos. The vehicle stopped, opened the front driver's side door and backed up after passing the bus stop. The driver did not communicate with the student at the bus stop. ThePima County Sheriff's Department was notified and a report filed.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a darker skinned male, bald, wearing jeans and ablack shirt. The vehicle has been described as a white SUV, raised or lifted with bigger tires.
