Boston bombing suspects go viral on social media

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The pictures of two suspects are circulating the internet and getting lots of views, especially on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Whether you turn on the news, log onto Facebook, or maybe your desk neighbor at work or school, as the pictures pulled up... they're hard to miss.

With around a billion active Facebook users worldwide -- that's one out of every six people on the planet -- the video and pictures have gone viral.

The photos have been shared countless times already today and the FBI is hoping the virtual world will help lead them to the two men.

Many Tucsonans Tucson News Now spoke to have already seen the images.

"I was in class in a computer lab and one of my classmates was looking online and saw the pictures had been released," said Cassie John, a U of A student.

"The more people who see those pictures the more chances we have of being brought in," said Sandra Quirt. "The more people who see those pictures the more recognizable they'll be."
