RED ROCK (Tucson News Now) - A 7-year-old girl is back with her family after getting lost in a Pinal County wilderness area.

Pinal County deputies got the call Saturday night.  They say just before dusk, the girl went for a quad ride and failed to return to the family's RV.  That's when her family called for help.

Pinal County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue deputies set up a command post and began a coordinated air and ground search near the family's campsite at Park Link Drive and Highway 79.

Around 11:20 p.m., authorities found the child's abandoned ATV about seven miles from the family's campsite.  The girl was not located near the quad and appeared to have left the
area on foot.

At 2:06 a.m., searchers calling out the child's name heard her respond about four miles from where the quad had been discovered.  The child had cactus in her legs and was cold and thirsty, but was otherwise unharmed.
