TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf picked up a Territorial Cup point and earned a fourth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships on Wednesday. Hosted by UCLA and held at Valencia Country Club (par 72, 6,300 yards) in Valencia, Calif., competition was held Mon.-Wed., April 22-24.
No. 1 USC won the Pac-12 title with a score of 853 (-11). No. 11 Washington earned a runner-up finish with a score of 877 (+13). No. 10 UCLA rounded out the top three with an 879 (+15). No. 5 Arizona and No. 15 Stanford shared fourth place with totals of 882 (+18). The Wildcats recorded rounds of 301, 284 and 297. Annie Park of USC won the individual title with a score of 209 (-7).
No. 77 freshman Janie Jackson was Arizona's top finisher in a three-way tie for seventh place. She carded rounds of 75, 68 and 74 for a three-day total of 217 (+1). Her round of 68 from day two matches her season and collegiate best from the Stanford Intercollegiate and the Bruin/Wave Invitational earlier this season.
No. 31 sophomore Manon Gidali finished in a tie for 16th place. She scored rounds of 74, 71 and 76 for a total of 221 (+5). Sophomore Andrea Vilarasau finished in a four-way tie for 20th place. She scored a 223 (+7) with rounds of 76, 76 and 72. No. 70 sophomore Kendall Prince finished in a five-way tie for 24th place. She collected scores of 76, 73 and 75 for a total of 224 (+8). No. 96 sophomore Patricia Garcia rounded out the Arizona five in a four-way tie for 29th place. She had rounds of 76, 72 and 78 for a score of 226 (+10).
NCAA Regional Championships, with site selections to be determined, will be held May 9-11. Auburn will host the East Regional, Oklahoma the Central Regional and Stanford the West Regional.
