Serious accident near Kolb to cause hours of delays

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Tucson Police Department is investigating a pedestrian versus vehicle accident that happened around 9:30 p.m. near Golf Links and Kolb.

TPD released a traffic alert to warn the public that westbound traffic on Golf Links and Calle Yucatan is being diverted north bound for approximately three to four hours.

Sgt. Maria Hawke with the Tucson Police Department says a crash caused serious injuries.

Investigators are expected to be at the scene for several hours.

    Volunteers from Flood Control, Wild at Heart, the Tucson Audubon Society and Tucson Electric Power built 16 new burrows using plastic buckets, tubing, and PVC pipes to mimic natural burrows. These burrows were then covered in rock to provide additional protection to the habitat entrances.

    The shooting happened at the South Lawn Mortuary cemetery on Friday night and has left one man dead.  The officers involved in the shooting were not hurt, according to Sgt. Bay.
