Minivan hits bicyclist in Mesa

MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

A 51-year-old male bicyclist is in serious condition after being hit by a minivan Thursday morning.

The man was riding his bike near 2500 E. University Dr. in Mesa when he was hit from behind by a lady in her 30s, according to officers from the Mesa Police Department.

According to officers, the driver was impaired.

The man was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
