The one-week anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing attacks, the effects of the sequestration on airports and the opening of a new presidential library are just a few of the stories that caught our eye this week.

(RNN) – Authorities questioned Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev while he recovered in the hospital. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev reportedly told police that his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who died in a shootout with police, was the mastermind of the attacks and that the two of them became self-radicalized from Islamic videos on the internet.

They were also reportedly planning to detonate explosives at Times Square in New York City. Police charged Dzhokhar Tsarnaev with use of a weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction of property resulting in death.

Police dropped charges against a man who was suspected of mailing letters that contained the poison ricin to President Barack Obama, Sen. Roger Wicker, R-MS, and others. The FBI said they found no evidence of ricin in his home.

The sequestration hit the airline industry and travelers hard this week. Mandatory budget cuts forced many air traffic control operators to take off more days, causing flight delays anywhere from minutes to more than three hours.

Two barges carrying fuel exploded Wednesday night in Mobile, AL. Three people were injured in the blasts.

The George W. Bush Library was dedicated in Dallas on Thursday. All five living presidents attended the event.
