TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A 46-year-old man is in jail accused of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Ismael Delgado on Monday at a business in the 4500 block of East Speedway Boulevard, where he allegedly went to meet an underage girl that he thought was 14 years old for sexual purposes.

Police say Delgado was booked into the Pima County Jail for one count of luring a minor for sex and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

According to a news release, Delgado first approached the girl on April 24 in the Martha Cooper Library at 1377 North Catalina Avenue.

Police say he approached her, started asking her personal questions and rubbing her arm. He left after he gave her his phone number, and she immediately reported the incident to the librarian, her parents and police.
