Twenty-six people were arrested Wednesday in street gang drug busts in Coconino and Maricopa counties.
The arrests by the DPS State Gang Task Force came in the wake of a seven-month investigation into illegal drug sales by the criminal street gangs.
The drugs involved were methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, wax (marijuana paste), ecstasy and prescription medications.
Authorities said the operation was a success because of the cooperation of a number of agencies - the FBI, Flagstaff Police Department, Cocooning County Sheriff's Office, Williams Police Department, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, ATF, ICE and the U.S. Marshals Service.
More arrests are expected in the future.
