Lights! Camera! Action! It's showtime in Marana as Harkins Theatres celebrates the Grand Opening of Arizona Pavilions 12.
The state of the art "Ultimate Moviegoing Experience" is the rebirth and completely remodeled former Tower Theatres in Marana off Cortaro Rd. west of Interstate 10.
Dan Harkins, owner/CEO of Harkins Theatres was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and continued with the family tradition of buying the first person in line a movie ticket.
Celebrating 80 years in Arizona and headquartered in Scottsdale, Harkins Theatres is the largest family owned theatre circuit in the United States with more than 400 screens in several different states.
Crews have been busy with the newest location, spending the last month and $3,000,000 dollars renovating the entire building, "we put in new seats, their luxury seats, the Harkins Ultimate Rocker," Harkins says, "we installed new projectors, new sound system, new lobby, new snack bar, everything about this theatre has changed. It's very state of the art and best of all, we lowered the price. It's the lowest price in Tucson."
Part of that new lobby includes an expanded snack bar. It's doubled in size compared to the old one and includes pizza, White Castle Cheeseburgers, churros, and popcorn chicken.
