Vail kidnapping case investigators ask for hotline tips

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Investigators are on the hunt with new information this afternoon on an attempted kidnapping in Vail.
Their phone lines have been flooded with tips regarding a suspect who tried to grab a 13-year-old girl while she was walking to a friend's house on Colossal Cave Road on Sunday.

Sheriff's officials believe they are making progress, but continue to ask for the public's assistance.

The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties. He's about 5' 9" with a thin build and was last seen driving an older model, white SUV with tinted windows.

The girl fought the man off and managed to get away.

Today, authorities continue to sift through leads in an effort to narrow down the suspects and to come up with a possible arrest.

The sheriff's department has received information to the public by way of social media. They, of course, welcome any information people might have, though for the integrity of the investigation and not to compromise that investigation, they ask any tips to be sent by calling 911 or 88-CRIME.
