We're learning more about wanted 66-year-old convicted sex offender Dennis Foster, who is charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor because of child pornography.
According to police reports, it all happened at his home on the 2900 block of N. Grannen, near Grant and Silverbell.
Reports say Tucson police detectives discovered a computer in Pima County was downloading and sharing child pornography.
That computer was traced to Foster.
He was arrested three months later when police searched his home. The report reads that his computer had more than 50 files of child pornography and that Foster admitted to downloading the pictures.
He was arrested in December and charged, though U.S. Marshals said he was later released on bond and that's when he took off. Deputies said he hasn't been seen since early April.
Foster was also charged with sexual conduct with a minor in 1985.
Neighbors in the area are shocked and disappointed that they were never aware of his sex offender status.
"I cant believe that we were not informed about this. I have children and grand children and great grand children here that are playing in these yards all the time. You feel like you're safe out here but I guess you're not," said Betty Mclaughlin, who lives across the street.
But according to U.S. Marshals, authorities do not have to notify neighbors because his conviction happened before 1996.
"He was convicted in 1985 of sexual conduct with a minor and that offense does require that he register as a sex offender. However, since that offense occurred prior to 1996 and Megan's Law, the community is not required to be notified," said Deputy Daniel Leyva with the U.S. Marshals.
Marshal says if you know anything about David Foster's whereabouts, you're urged to call 88-CRIME or 911.
Foster is described as a white man, 5'9", around 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.
