Today was a big day for a lot of local tech start-up companies for Pitch Day at the University of Arizona Tech Park.
The Arizona Center for Innovation hosted 22 companies for its fourth annual Pitch Day.
The start-up companies were given three minutes to present their products and company to potential investors.
Last, year some start-up companies did very well and are now off and running.
"Well it's really once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity for some of the companies because they wouldn't have the opportunity to go out and meet, you know, ready-made audiences and partners and mentors and potential investors, and we do events like this every quarter and we see results every time. So for example, last year we had 17 companies raise $3 million collectively to move their ventures forward," said Joann Macmaster, the director of the Arizona Center for Innovation.
This was the first year that Pitch Day was opened up to companies statewide.
