Suspicious package turns out to be duffle bag with clothes

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A duffle bag full of clothes was responsible for a road closure at First Avenue and Washington Street in Phoenix on Friday morning.

The Phoenix police bomb squad checked out what was initially reported as a suspicious package about 8 a.m. Friday, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos.

After investigators determined the package posed no threat, traffic was about ready to return to normal at 8:45 a.m., Martos said.
