PINAL COUNTY, AZ (CBS5) -

Authorities say they've arrested a man believed to be a significant drug dealer in the San Tan Valley, along with his live-in girlfriend.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said James Gass, 25, was stopped by deputies for suspected drunk driving and arrested. PCSO issued a search warrant on Gass' home and found 4 pounds of marijuana, one ounce of cocaine, $7,000 cash, six firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

PCSO said Gass served two years in Arizona Department of Corrections on aggravated assault charges stemming from a shooting. He was released in 2010 and is prohibited from possessing a gun.

Deputies said Gass was moving pot from California and selling and distributing it throughout San Tan Valley with the help of his 23-year-old live-in girlfriend, Cassandra Rodriguez. Rodriguez was also arrested.

Rodriguez and Gass have an 18-month-old daughter who lives at the home. Deputies found a loaded AR-15 rifle with the safety off and in reach of the child. The child was placed in custody of Child Protective Services.

PCSO said they are still investigating and additional charges are expected against Gass.
