Clerk chases suspect following Middletown store robbery

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Police are searching for a man who snatched cash from the cash register of a Middletown store.

Officers responded to Midd-Town Carry Out in the 2000 block of Central Avenue around 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Investigation revealed that a suspect went into the store to purchase a soda. As the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store.

The clerk chased the suspect to the intersection of Sutphin Street and Linden Avenue until the clerk lost sight of the suspect.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his early twenties. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and brown shorts.

The incident is currently under investigation.
