Sentencing expected today for Todd Hezlitt

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Happening today, a former middle school coach will be sentenced for having sexual contact with a child; police also say he took the 16-year-old girl to Mexico.

Around 3:30 p.m. today Todd Hezlitt will find out how long he will be behind bars.  Hezlitt is facing charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and custodial interference for taking her across the border.

39-year-old Todd Hezlitt was the wrestling coach at Altar Valley Middle School.  He was first arrested a year ago, for contact with an underage girl.  Once released police say he took off for Mexico with the girl.

The girl says she ran away with him voluntarily.  Nevertheless, she eventually turned herself in at the U.S. Consulate in Mazatlan and Hezlitt was arrested again.

He has since pleaded guilty to the charges. A judge could sentence him to anywhere between 3 and 13 years in prison.

Tucson News Now cameras will be in the courtroom when the sentencing is handed down.

The postal inspection service is offering up a pretty hefty reward after a package was stolen from a Tucson woman's doorstep. This wasn't a Christmas present, it was something much more precious, a father's ashes.
