A federal traffic safety board is recommending lowering legal blood-alcohol content levels. The BAC has not been changed in many years.
The National Transportation Safety Board wants to decrease the number of alcohol-related traffic fatalities.
The NTSB would like to see the BAC changed from 0.08 to 0.05 in all 50 states. This is just one of a handful of recommendations. That include, taking a person's license for refusing to take a BAC test to pushing for laws requiring first time drunk drivers get an ignition locking device.
Many of the recommendations on the list are already being done here in Arizona. The state is considered to have some of the toughest DUI laws in the country.
