TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A baby rattlesnake bit a 79-year-old woman Tuesday morning while she worked in her garden on the east side.

The woman was trimming bushes in the 3400 Block of South Camino Seco, near East Stella and Escalante Roads, when she suffered a bite on her left index finger, Tucson Fire Capt. Barrett Baker said.

The woman called 911 about ten or 15 minutes after the bite, Baker said.

She was hospitalized for treatment and was in stable condition.
