Midwest begins to cool after heat wave

The Midwest has gone from cold to hot in only a few days.

Over the weekend, Minneapolis was in the upper 40s to lower 50s for high temperatures.

On Tuesday, May 14th, the mercury topped out at a record 98°!

And, to top that off, vegetation hasn't even fully blossomed in the Twin Cities.

Notice in the photo below that spring has just started to appear, with some trees leafing out. Others, like the ones in the lower right-hand side of the picture, are still wintry brown.

See It, Snap It, Send It

The heat wave will break Wednesday, when temperatures will only be in the 70s in much of central and southern Minnesota.
