TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Police continue to search for a suspect who was unsuccessful in his attempt to steal a purse from an 89-year-old woman, which also resulted in a head injury to the victim.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Rincon District crews responded to the attempted robbery at a Safeway in the 4700 block of E. Sunrise Drive on April 27.

The victim was walking to her car after shopping when the suspect approached her and demanded money. She refused and he attempted to grab her purse.

The victim clung to her purse, and in doing so, fell and hit her head on the ground.
