Beer bandit threatens clerk, escapes

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Sheriff's DepartmentRobbery Assault Unit is currently investigating an incident involving anunusual beer theft in the Foothills from late April.

According to deputies with theSheriff's Department Foothills District, a male suspect attempted to rob aCircle K store in the 4900 block of N. Oracle Road on April 24, using beer ashis weapon.

The suspect attempted to leavethe store with a 24-pack of Bud Lite and a 24-pack of Budweiser without paying,when the clerk locked the doors to prevent the suspect's escape.

He then grabbed two beer bottles and waived them around, threateningharm if the clerk did not open the doors. She did, and the suspect escaped

He is described as a Hispanic male, last seen wearing black pants and ablack t-shirt.

Anyone with informationon the suspect is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
